Lost and Found

If lost property is found anywhere on campus, the person finding it should bring it in to the Department of Public Safety as soon as possible. Bear in mind that delays decrease the likelihood that we will be able to determine ownership of the property and return the item to the owner. Public safety staff looks each piece over to determine whether they can establish ownership. If so, an officer will either call or email the owner.

If you’ve lost something, and want to find out if it’s been turned in, contact public safety at 843.953.4980 or come by headquarters at 89 Saint Philip Street.

Note that we keep the vast majority of non-perishable items only for 90 days before we hand them over to the State of South Carolina for disposal.

The College of Charleston does not offer claim rights to persons turning in lost property.
